About Us

The North Worcestershire Archaeology Group (NWAG) was set up in 2009 to develop new knowledge of the archaeology and history of north Worcestershire. We’re a small and friendly community group whose members come from all walks of life, from retired amateurs to university academics!

Over the years we’ve undertaken dozens of projects researching the archaeology and history of our region, exploring everything from medieval castles and moats to Georgian mills and Victorian labourer’s cottages. Our members get involved in a wide range of different activities, from fieldwork and archive research to talks and visits to sites of interest. We love sharing our findings with the wider world, so make our results available via reports and articles in archaeological journals like the Worcestershire Recorder.

We’re always keen to welcome new members – so, if you want to dig into archaeology, why not join us today?
